UPGRADED MODERN BASS

The Sire M5 is an upgraded modern bass in several layers; starting from the body to its neck for more energetic bass slapping, the Marcus preferred- hardware and electronics ready for any playing style, and its modern look and feel suitable in the Z generation.

MODERN BASS BODY

Made from fine-tuned Swamp Ash wood to match the modern characteristics of the M5.

MARCUS MILLER PURE-H REVOLUTION PICKUP

Pure and advanced humbucking pickup set that separates the noise to bring out the powerful bass sound.

MARCUS MILLER HERITAGE-3 PREAMP

Composed of a 3-band EQ and a switch allowing you to have complete tonal control from the active or passive modes.

M5 CONTROL LAYOUT

1. Volume

Controls the overall output. Turn toward Open to increase volume and toward Close to decrease it. Fully closed mutes the sound.

2. Master Tone

Adjusts brightness. Turn toward Open for a brighter tone and toward Close for a darker tone.

3. Pickup Balancer

The center position uses both pickups equally. Turn toward Neck for a warmer neck pickup sound or toward Bridge for a brighter bridge pickup sound.

4. EQ Controls

The Treble, Middle, Middle Frequency, and Bass controls work in Active Mode.

5. Treble

Boosts or cuts the high-frequency range.

6. Middle

Boosts or cuts the midrange.

7. Middle Frequency

Selects the mid-frequency range affected by the Middle control.

8. Bass

Boosts or cuts the low-frequency range.

9. Active / Passive Switch

Select Active to use the onboard preamp and EQ. Select Passive to bypass the preamp for a more natural passive sound.

10. Pickup Mode Switches

Choose between three pickup wiring modes:
• Parallel Humbucker – clear and balanced.
• Single Coil / Outer Coil – brighter and more focused.
• Series Humbucker – stronger, fuller, and higher output.

Basic Tone Tips

For a balanced sound, keep the Pickup Balancer and EQ controls near the center position.
For a brighter, tighter tone, blend toward the bridge pickup and slightly boost Treble.
For a warmer, fuller tone, blend toward the neck pickup and slightly boost Bass.
For more detailed tone shaping, adjust the Middle Frequency first, then boost or cut with the Middle control.
